Got the Hub One yesterday and had major set up issues which involved a call to the techies at customer service. It turned out that the problem I had was with the TP-Link Ethernet hub. Connecting the Hub One directly to my main PC gave me a connection.
Later that day I rearranged the 5 Ethernet connections on the TP-Link and everything connected without an issue. This morning I had to do exactly the same as I had no connection via Ethernet until again i had rearranged the cables.
Is there a known issue with the TP-link hubs, this one.?
Should I purchase another brand if so which?

Hi
I have my setup like this:
Hub One (wireless disabled) | |--- Gaming PC | |--- 500AV 1a ··· 500AV 1b homeplugs | |--- TP-Link switch | ¦ ··· Workstation | ¦ ··· Zyxel NAS | ¦ ··· Samsung DLNA | |--- 500AV 2a ··· 500AV 2b homeplugs | |--- TP-Link W8980 as wired bridge | ¦ ··· SSID1 (2.4ghz for guest wifi) | ¦ ··· SSID2 (5ghz, private) | ¦ ··· TV | ¦ ··· PS3 | ¦ ··· network printer
This has worked absolutely fine both at this house and at our old house for over a year, and I've tested the setup with several different ADSL routers. That said, something very weird happened yesterday while I was at work, which not only knocked out the 2a homeplug, but also switched the W8980 back into ADSL router mode and re-enabled the DHCP server - I've had it configured in bridge mode with DHCP relay for ages. The only thing of interest that was happening over the network at the time was a laptop going through the Windows 10 updates but lord knows why that would upset a homeplug or cause a router to change its operating mode. The only device I'm a bit wary of that's connected to the TP-Link switch is the NAS; I did tinker around with its firmware a couple of days ago and enabled some modules that I'd patched manually. I suppose it's possible that's been doing something weird.
