Hub Two - Wireless Wont Turn Off

So I've finally got my brand spanking new Hub Two so I can retire the ancient TG582n.

I sometimes need to turn the wifi off however when I tested this (turning off both 2.5GHz and 5GHz) the hub still sends a strong signal out.

Does anyone know if this is essentially just turning the SSID off rather than actually turning the wifi signal itself off?  Not sure if this is a fault or how it's meant to work.

Fix

@neilbradley

This is a known 'feature' that will hopefully be removed on a future firmware update. It carries no traffic.

Re: Hub Two - Wireless Wont Turn Off

@Baldrick1 thanks for the quick reply, appreciated.

That's a shame it doesn't truly turn it off.  Do you know how firmware updates happen?  I did think of this initially but couldn't see any way to update the firmware in the settings (I appreciate the 'fix' for this isn't out there yet as you said, but curious how I would update it).

Re: Hub Two - Wireless Wont Turn Off

Hub firmware updates are rolled out by Plusnet automatically, you cannot do them 'manually'

Re: Hub Two - Wireless Wont Turn Off

@neilbradley

There's currently no timeframe. Firmware updates are automatically downloaded to your hub as and when they are released, so you do not need to do anything. This transmission is a left over from the design of the BT Smarthub 2, on which the Plusnet Hub 2 is based. It is associated with the mesh backhaul for remote disks, a feature that is only supported on the BT version.

Re: Hub Two - Wireless Wont Turn Off

@neilbradley - I'm expecting an update over the next month or so that will address this.
