Maybe look at this device MERCUSYS AV1000 MP510 KIT Gigabit Powerline Adapter Starter Kit, WiFi Extender Speed up to 1000 Mbps
You can add a switch to give you more etherports at the workshop end.
Your issue is being caused by having two different network address ranges, 192.168.1.x for the Hub and 192.168.0.x for the S3.
An option I would try is to change the Hub to 192.168.0.x so everything is on the same network and then turn off the DHCP server on the S3.

I've done factory resets on them all now, as recommended somewhere along the way. So I don't have one to plug back in, working like it used to.
The total lack of interest and support from Mercusys, means I'll avoid their products in future.
I have a Netgear powerline adapter system which works fine on my PC, in workshop and our main TV (had to use a wired connection, back when we had Sky WiFi 15 feet away, direct line of sight 😂)
I just need a WiFi adapter thing in workshop, in AP mode to give me all one subnet throughout.

@TrevSmith I use one of these https://www.amazon.co.uk/Cudy-WR3000S-Ethernet-Antennas-Wireguard/dp/B0CYT3Q54S as a wireless access point. If you've already got a powerline connection to the workshop then it should be fine.
I run the 'official' Openwrt on mine (which is perhaps a bit techie) but the Cudy supplied firmware has an option for 'access point mode' https://www.cudy.com/en-gb/blogs/faq/how-to-configure-cudy-wi-fi-router-as-an-access-point

for what it worth these Halo S3 devices were End of Life December 2021 so it very likely you'd NOT get support on them anymore from Mercusys.
