Can't find 192.168.0.1 on Plusnet SSID or Halo SSID ... not reachable.
On the Plusnet hub page the Halo is on 192.168.1.226, but can't connect directly to that IP either

Disconnect the Halo from your network and connect it directly to a computer via Ethernet. If the computer has wireless then make sure that this is switched off. Enter 192.168.0.1 into the address field of yout web browser and see if this gives you access to the Halo settings. If so theh switch off DHCP and give it an unused IP adress in the range 192.168.1.2-63.

Don't forget to save if/when given the option.

Connect the Halo to the Hub 2 using LAN, NOT WAN, sockets on both units.

Are you using a mobile device? IF so, select 'desktop version' from the hamburger icon.

@TrevSmith

Have you tried http://mwlogin.net/ in place of the IP address?

Re: Home Wifi system IoT problems

@Baldrick1 - yes did try that also, but the fact that windows said the Network IP config was bad made me give up.

Re: Home Wifi system IoT problems

Just to summarise where I'm at with these Halo S3 units.
While on the Halo SSID, I've tried the mwlogin.net and 192.168.0.1 (plus other IPs that seemed logical from snooping around the Plusnet hub setup page). Done this all on my phone, old phone, Window 11 laptop.

The Mercusys app on my phone takes me through a setup to make the Halo my main WiFi router, which doesn't work. I don't think this applies to the old S3 units. In the paperwork and data sheets for the S3 units there's no mention of the LED ever being BLUE, which the app is telling me to look for.

With Halo on an ethernet cable, my PC didn't find the unit, due to no valid IP config.

With the Halo back in my workshop, wired through powerline adaptors, it's just radiating its own SSID and there's no Plusnet WiFi to speak of. Barely showing on my WiFi analyser and often disappearing all together.

Somehow, I think it's time to give up and find another device, which I can definitely configure in AP mode for WiFi from my wired setup in workshop / garden area.

So for the hell of it, have you tried 192.168.0.100?

Re: Home Wifi system IoT problems

Oh and forgot to mention, I've had no reply from Mercusys support on all this in a week now.

Thanks for all your help guys, I'm off to do some research, before I buy something new.
Anyone want 2 complete Mercusys Halo S3 (3 pack) systems going cheap ? 😂
