@jab1 - you could try seeing whether the DSL line stats look OK (assuming FTTC), and perhaps getting the connection log, as the process of doing that will answer several questions.

I don't know if the line stats would help
I'd like to see evidence of the broadband really being connected with a working PPPoE session,
as it is very unlikely that everything is OK with the exception of the router's DNS.

I’ve tried both Wifi and ethernet but still nothing.
Plusnet said they’ll ring me tomorrow as they’ve been unable to refresh my connection from their end. But said the line from the network to my place is still working.

Had a powercut and now my router won’t connect to the internet
Was the power cut just within your house, or was it a wide area outage ?
If a wider area, then (assuming FTTC) your fibre cabinet might still have no power ? (and therefore no internet)

Have you tried a "Factory Reset" of the router ? - that often fixes odd problems

As you are on ADSL, when you get to speak to Plusnet tomorrow, you might want to also ask them the direct question -
What happens to your broadband connection when the upcoming Openreach UK phone switch-off happens, because when the phone service gets removed, then your ADSL becomes SoADSL - which Plusnet don't and say they won't support.
Therefore you are likely to lose your not only your phone, but also broadband, email, and your Plusnet account.
If Plusnet suggest that they will move you to EE, my understanding is that EE don't support SoADSL lines, and if offered a move to BT - they do support SoADSL but because you'd likely be forced to convert your phone to become 'Digital Voice' then that is unlikely to work using the supplied BT router due to it's limitations.
Be aware that the UK phone switch-off is likely to occur from 31st December 2025 to 31st March 2026 - depending on which sources you choose to believe, so you might want to start making alternative arrangements in the near future.
Forewarned is forearmed !.
