ASUS RT-AC68U blocking Synology storage

Good morning people!

I'm sorry for the horrible english.

I bought an ASUS RT-AC68U router to replace my TP-Link AC1750, but I have a very annoying problem.

When I'm watching movies that are on my Synology NAS, the movie freezes after a few minutes on the TV's Kodi, both via wifi and cable.

This only happens on Kodi and Linux (debian), on Windows it doesn't crash.

Thanks!

Re: ASUS RT-AC68U blocking Synology storage

I don't think your problem has anything to do with Plusnet imho.

I think the RT-AC68u is discontinued ?  Is it brand new or 'used'?

I would check what firmware is installed and update it where necessary.

If it is a 'used' router, check whether all the ethernet ports are working properly.  eg. the port used by the NAS could be faulty?

Early Asus routers with broadcom chipsets also have a tendency to run a bit hot.  It may need extra cooling if there is not enough ventilation.

ex-Plusnet (ADSL, FTTC) 2008-2023. now BT (FTTP) 2023-
