Moving from EE broadband supplier to Plusnet broadband

I placed my order last week, there were an issue identifying which line Plusnet was taking over but this did not stop EE cutting me off. It now appears I have Plusnet broadband but not equipment to use it. I cannot see where to see if this is even in progress.

Re: Moving from EE broadband supplier to Plusnet broadband

You may be able to get the EE router to accept your Plusnet credentials (the username and password you use to log into the "member centre").

It's yourusername@plusdsl.net and the password as you type it.

BT equipment can be reused like that and the EE router may let you do this.

I am the satisfied customer....

The earlier versions of the EE router, like the BT Smart Hub 2, yes but not the later EE Smart Hub 2 Pro. See here https://community.plus.net/t5/My-Router/Will-an-EE-Smart-Hub-Pro-work-with-plus-net-FTTP/td-p/200154...

Re: Moving from EE broadband supplier to Plusnet broadband

Thank you, by a bizarre co-incidence the original router was an old BT router (even though it had been moved to EE by BT without asking me) but that is only displaying amber now despite turning it on and off, which is a shame.

@ssww2026 you WILL need to configure the BT router with your PLusnet credentials. The procedure is described here https://community.plus.net/t5/My-Router/Using-the-BT-Smarthub-6-on-a-Plusnet-Account/td-p/1587673

Re: Moving from EE broadband supplier to Plusnet broadband

Unless the router is restricted/locked a third party router will work, mine worked straight off.

The only thing is you need to log onto it and go to the PPOE settings and enter your plusnet username and password.

By username I believe it's username@plus.net or username@plusdsl.net or similar (I think it can vary but as a new customer you are probably latter). See:
