Homemover - Questions about old address

Hi Peeps,

I have a move booked for the end of September. There will be someone continuing to live in my current address. At what point can they arrange for their own ISP? Does the move need to complete first or can they arrange someone beforehand?

Thanks in advance

Re: Homemover - Questions about old address

Generally speaking … this can be complex space.

Your contract transfer to a new address is a two part order … a cease at your current address and a provide at the new address.

Whilst there is an open cease order on a line, no ISP can raise a supply order.  Thereby there is probably no point raising an order before your move.

If the cease could be cancelled leaving your provide intact, so an order can be placed at the old property (working line take over) there is a real risk of that happening whilst your account is connected to that line … resulting in its closure and the move being cancelled.

Your safest course of action is to do nothing and leave the remaining occupant to make their own arrangements AFTER your service has transferred.
