Finally got someone at the BT side who went off script! Figured out what they (BT wholesale) had done wrong and the line closes from tonight, meaning I can hopefully get PlusNet to take over quickly.

For anyone in a similar situation. On the 24th September a new modem was installed and plusnet tookover the line.
BTs automatic compensation scheme failed, so still fighting for that...
I might be very unlucky, but the whole thing has been a shambles and extremely frustrating.
Issue was BT wholesale closing the BT account a month early, however no one at the BT support side could fathom this possibility so I was sent on a goose chase.

BTWholesale are sometimes do messed things up. They are awful, slow and unfit for purpose!
