Engineer Dates

On the order page to upgrade to FTTP, there is a section titled "Book an engineer".

Is this the date of installation, or the date on which an engineer will visit the property to conduct a pre-installation check?

First, its only an 'estimated' date until confirmed by Openreach. Secondly, it depends on what your 'Install process' is. Check the btwholesale checker. If its '1-stage' then its the install date. If its '2-stage' then its usually the 1st visit for external work. If its 'KCI2 assure' , then its the date for an initial survey to decide what work is needed.

Helped my next door neighbour to upgrade to Full Fibre on Monday. It is not listed as KCI2 but needs a duct to join that on the pavement as the copper is direct burial, so definitely a two part install. Booked date for later in the month, which I assumed was the survey date. Openreach turned up this morning unannounced to survey the route. I'm now assuming that the booked date is that for the dig team to turn up.

I'll update on the appointed day.

Re: Engineer Dates

@Baldrick1 Sounds like it could be a lot of work!

It's this element of installation that gives me some concern as to how much disruption there may be.

I'm hoping that the existing ducting at my home can be utilized.

@bazzer

Look at the following

https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL

Where it says WBC FTTP what does it say to the right?

Below the results window will be a narrative on FTTP - what does this say?
