can i see my password without changing it?

I've been logged in to my email account on Outlook for years, no problem. But, now i have a new phone and i can't remember my Plusnet password to get the email on my phone.

I'm afraid that if i take the 'Forgot my password' route, i will be kicked out of my outlook.

Please, is there a way of seeing my password without changing it?

Re: can i see my password without changing it?

Generally speaking, no, not unless your device has it hidden in its secure configuration.

Is this the default mailbox or a secondary?

The password for the primary mailbox is the same as you use to log into the Plusnet portal.

@helpmeplease Sometimes a utility like MailPassView can dig the passwords out, worth a try.

You'll hit various obstacles to using it as many systems will see it as Malware, you'll need to override that, maybe several times.

Find it here: Mail PassView: Password recovery for Outlook, Outlook Express, Thunderbird, Windows Mail, and more.....

If you have been using mail on your phone, you "may" be able to see it under saved passwords, if you use Chrome or similar.

In the browser go to 3 dots top right, Settings, Autofill and Password. Password manager, then have a look down the list.

What’s the problem in resetting the password?  Anything else using those credentials will fail and ask for the new password.  If you’ve not changed the password in years … there’s good merit in doing so now.
