Ion the odd occasion I bother checking spam sources?
Given that information can you trace the email to the senders address ? No, neither can the Government office.

@Dan_the_Van Unless the spam originates, or travels through and is traceable, there’s nothing Plusnet can do.

Hopefully you'll agree doing something is better than doing nothing.

I know that the mail source will be a dead end with faked IP addresses etc and not via PlusNet (therefore abuse policy will not apply), but the webpage containing the scam data collection has to be real and on a server with a real IP address somewhere.
That webpage as a minimum is committing copyright infringement (Plusnet pink and logo) and fraudulently posing as PlusNet. That aspect should be PlusNets' business as well as reporting to actionfraud and SpamCop etc
As with all crimes - chase the money.

@mwwagain You’re right, Plusnet do have legal cases to chase these people but there is a small problem, Unless it’s the proverbial ‘Kid in his bedroom’ this will be the work of persons unknown, untraceable, based anywhere in the world.

Whatever it is, if the target URL is known, then at least PN could block its resolution within their DNS servers. Not totally fool proof, but would go some distance to protecting Plusnet users.
In another browser tab, login into the Plusnet user portal BEFORE clicking the fault & ticket links

I've just received something very similar, so find this thread useful confirmation that this is a scam, as I thought it was. Am about to forward the email to report@phishing.gov.uk and abuse@plus.net.
I find it's always useful to examine this sort of email on a large screen with a desktop pc. It can be much harder to spot the detail on a small mobile phone screen, especially to check the sender's real address safely.
