Renweal and Billing Queries

My contract ends on the 15/04/2026 and looking at the offers I have. I will be switching from Unlimited Fibre Extra inc. Line rental to either Full Fibre 74 or Full Fibre 145 (both currently the same price offer for me online). If I make this change will someone need to come out to do anything?

I also wanted know will the new contract start immediately once I renew? I would prefer to keep the contract start time sometime in April because of the March price rise and easier for me to keep track of.

Lastly, how is the billing done? Do I have to pay one month in advance? My usual bill was £29.49, but in March I got a bill that was £44.03 (I'm guessing to reflect the price change in April from my current contract). So when I renew in April, I should get refunded any payments I made for April and May that will come through in the next few days?

Yes, an Openreach engineer will come to your property and install a completely new fibre connection. Have a look here https://www.openreach.com/help-and-support/full-fibre-broadband-installation-checklist that will explain what happens

The new contract will start when Full fibre is installed which may well be a couple of weeks.

No, your billing date normally remains the same. The first bill after FF is installed will pro rata the old contract price and the new one.

My contract ends on the 15/04/2026

If you are going to order FF then do it now, it may well take a couple of weeks to arrange the installation. If it delays past your contract end then your existing price will revert to the out-of-contract price which is expensive.
