Plusnet to BT Home Essentials

I want to move from Plusnet to BT Home Essentials social tariff. I was under the impression I should contact Plusnet and they would handle the transfer process. However, when I called Plusnet customer service, I was told to contact BT directly and a note would be left on my account.

This has left me confused. I want to make sure I do this correctly without being charged an early termination fee. Can anyone clarify the correct steps for switching to BT Home Essentials from Plusnet?

Fix

Hi @nilad

Welcome to the Community!

While Plusnet does not offer its own social tariff, eligible customers can switch to BT's Home Essentials social tariff without early termination fees.
Please give us a call on 0800 432 0200 to check your eligibility and arrange the transfer.

You can find out more information at https://www.bt.com/broadband/home-essentials

A bit after the fact, but further to pointing this user back to what they did already, was anything done to identify the source of the incorrect advice from the front line team, which lead to this forum engagement please ... and sending the user back to "Go".
