Final Bills - Switching Out

Hi, I switched to another provider on the 4th June.

I paid a 'full' bill in May.

My June bill is £12.

However, I was expecting a partial refund for June having looked at the dates I am been charged in May. Can anyone explain it to me? I just want to check I am definitely not owed anything (I'm assuming I have misunderstood at this point).

Cheers

Re: Final Bills - Switching Out

Fix

@Airbornecon looking at those bills...

It would seem that your normal billing date is the 16th and that your contract expired on the 4th June ? is that correct ?

Assuming that , then

The May bill covers

16 May to 4th June in advance at your discounted contract rate.

5th June to 15th June at the out-of-contract rate.

and looks correct to me.

Now the June bill

Gives a refund of the Line rental charged from 5th June (when you left) to 15th June i.e that was already paid in advance ( with any discounts charged back )

However it has continued to charge you for Unlimited Fibre from 16th June to 15th July !!

This is wrong, you should have been due a refund for the period 4th June to 15th June i.e what had been paid in advance.

Looking at the May bill , you paid £8.65 for that period , so by my calculations the Jun bill should have been a credit of £20.31.

You can either wait for one of the Plusnet help team to pick this up or call customer services. As above , the only error seems to be that you've continued to be charged for Unlimited Fibre.

Thank you MisterW.

Yeah I thought it looked off. I'll see if they pick this up here and if they don't give them a bell.

Cheers mate

Re: Final Bills - Switching Out

Spoke to them, people switching to Virgin are not having their services cancelled and disconnected automatically. Possibly because it's on a different network.

They are adjusting and sending me an adjusted bill with 27 days.

Cheers again.

Hmmm! it shouldnt matter that its a different network now. The OTS (One touch switch) system was supposed to fix that.

Anyway, they seem to have recognised that the phone was cancelled (refunded on the Jun bill) which would have generated a 'cease' on the line and cancelled the broadband at the same time.

They are adjusting and sending me an adjusted bill with 27 days.

That's good.
