Re: Can someone from Plusnet reply

I forgot to ask one last question. markhawkin advised that Plusnet is migrating to another provider ( Greenby ) in the near future. Anyone at Plusnet know when this could happen and if so how likely would it be that the Gmail problem would be resolved

Is your email <someone@something.plus.com>,or something else? Movement is being done in tranches, and you will be advised when you are likely to be transferred.

As the issue is at Gmails end, until they sort it, it will remain.

@Don2138 any accounts with hosted domains will be the last to transfer. I don't have any formal timescale information but IMO they are unlikely to transfer this year.

Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

OK - Domain based, so @MisterW 's last comment applies.

@Don2138

If you moved your domain and the associated email service to someone else, I suspect your problem with sending to GMail would be solved.

Unless related to that new provider of email and hosting, I can't see how a new broadband supplier would hept with the email issue.

I am the satisfied customer....

Re: Can someone from Plusnet reply

Don't forget to get the new domain name host arranged and transfer out prior to closing so look round for a good host and a good price as u like now, it won't be free hosting or email, and if you don't and move your broadband service to another ISP then you'll loose the domain too so just a heads up Smiley have you tried using a free VPN or anything to see if that works?just a thought

Re: Can someone from Plusnet reply

Just call up takes 5mins and it also changes daily and iirc it's not quite the full monthly price X months remaining so check with a call to be sure keeping in mind by the time it moved to a new provider it will have dropped more too Smiley don't forget to get a good value for the money domain host and email host paid for too and move it before other wise it'll be gone full stop Sad

Re: Can someone from Plusnet reply

Many thanks for the reply and information. Looking at all my options I've decided that I don't want to keep my Domain name. I've signed up to another ISP so in a couple of weeks I won't be a Plusnet customer. There were a number of reasons for leaving Plusnet. As well as Plusnet not hosting Domain names any more the ISP I've sighed with has no problems with Gmail as I have family and friends with my new ISP and Gmail works OK for them. Also my new ISP is giving me Digital land line connection at no extra charge, something Plusnet wanted to charge more for. Also what Plusnet want to charge me for a new contract is well above what I can get from a number of other ISPs. If I was a new customer to Plusnet it would be more than £5 a month less than what Plusnet want to charge me to renew my contract despite me being with them for over 20 years ( via Madasafish and Freenetname ). Also new Plusnet customers get a £40 voucher. I know this is the way businesses work but why shouldn't I feel there is no thought for a long standing customer. So the cost for my new ISP is less than if I was a new Plusnet customer, I get to keep my landline phone and phone number, I won't have Gmail problems and those I know are very happy with the ISP I have signed up to. Another plus is as I signed up via USWITCH I get a £150 gift card. In case anyone asks I'm not going to mention the name of my ISP as I don't think it's right to say on Plusnets forum.
