Moving home and renewing contract query

Hello,

I am due to be moving house (hopefully soon) but don't yet have an exchange date.

In addition to this I've had an email notifying me of the below - I am unsure whether I will be moved by the 23rd November, however I am thinking that it would be sensible to renew now rather than hitting the out of contract monthly price of £61.73 per month.

Your Full Fibre 500 broadband contract is coming to an end on 23rd November 2025.

When your contract ends your monthly price will go from £36.73 to £61.73, increases 31 March each year.

 As I would be renewing at my current property, would I likely incur any charges when moving to my new property?

Thanks!

As long as Plusnet can provide a service at the new property, then you have two options for a house move:-

1) Pay a house move charge (currently £65 I think) and retain your existing contract.

2) Move for free, subject to taking a new 24month contract.

What if I've already taken a new 24 month contract in the month/s leading up to the move?

Re: Moving home and renewing contract query

I don't believe that makes any difference. AFAIK you are allowed one 'free' (subject to starting a new contract) house move any time during an existing contract period.

Hopefully a staff member will be along to confirm my understanding.

edit: here's the House move section from the T & Cs https://www.plus.net/help/legal/terms/

9. Moving home

9.1. If you want to move your standard broadband, fibre broadband or Full Fibre broadband service during your minimum term you may have to pay a home move fee as set out in the Price Guide or enter a new agreement with us with a new minimum term.

9.2. If you have fibre broadband, but we can't provide it at your new home, you can move to our standard broadband service without penalty.

9.3. If you have full fibre broadband, but we can't provide it at your new home, you can move to our standard broadband or fibre broadband service without penalty if it is available in the area.

9.4. If we can't provide your current service(s) to your new UK address, you won't have to pay a fee to end your agreement early.

9.5. Other home move charges (such as fees for installing a new line) may also apply as set out in the Price Guide.

@sudosaurus

Is there Full Fibre available at the new property?

@sudosaurus

At least the transfer of service should be hassle free.

As for the contract, phone the PlusNet Customer Options Team on 0800 013 2632 and ask them.
