Intermittent loss of call audio

Happens in both outgoing and incoming calls from a variety of networks. Person can hear me but I can't hear them. Sometimes I can hear first 10 seconds, mostly I can't hear them at all. Problem escalating over the last couple of months. Just got new handset so not a hardware issue. I end up using my work phone (Vodafone) to make the call so it's not recipient's network.

"from a variety of networks." Does that include Vodafone when using other than your work phone and new phone?

If not then I would respectfully suggest moving to Vodafone or a MVNO which uses their nework.

Have you tried the work phone s.i.m. in your phone?

Yes, includes calls to / from GiffGaff, Vodafone, Three.

I haven't tried the Vodafone SIM in new phone (Samsung). Problem started a few months ago with a Huawai phone and PlusNet SIM. Have moved the PlusNet SIM to a couple of other phones and problem persists.
