Public release

Any idea when the public release will be?
As the beta testers have to have a static IP what happens to the folk that don’t have one?
Will you do a none static IP address ipv6 trial?

Regards
Paul

Re: Public release

@poweredbyveg  I presume by Public release you mean available to all Plusnet customers, did you not see my reply to your  similar question at the end of this thread?

https://community.plus.net/t5/Everything-else/Static-IP-addresses-no-longer-available/m-p/2007762#M3...

The current trial is specifically for users who already have static IP addresses on the 'high touch network'.

The folk that don't have a static address are not on that network and will not need to have one.

Only Plusnet will know when they are able to introduce IPv6 on the dynamic address network and a limited trial will probably be announced at some point.

Re: Public release

Apologies for delayed reply on this.

We have 2 separate networks, one we refer to as low touch which is for dynamic IPs and high touch which is mostly static IP addresses and a few other reasons. I'd originally expected that low touch was going to be ready to trial IPv6 on first but we've had a few delays, it isn't far off but there's still work to do. Hopefully I'll have an update in a few weeks time.

Re: Public release

Hi Dave, do you have any news you can share now for IPv6 trial on the low touch network?
I’d certainly be keen to join a trial or for general availability.
Thank you, Stuart

Re: Public release

@Stuper  It's unlikely that any new announcement about IPV6 will happen in the near future as at the moment Plusnet staff are somewhat overwhelmed by problems with the email service and its ongoing migration to Greenby.

Re: Public release

Hi Stuart,

My test line in Ipswich is up and running on low touch on IPv6 and it's all fully working. I'm hoping to get my home line and 1 or 2 of our Sheffield office test lines on IPv6 in the next few weeks. Many many more things after that to do before we can expand but will update when we can.
