Credibility lost in the first few sentences ... "I'm not very technical ... yet I am in charge of one of the most technically challenging projects BT has undertaken in decades".
There does seem to be a lot of this in BT - people without the right skill sets in key leadership roles.
... the old kit is falling to bits so we need to move people to something more reliable ... which fails totally in a power cut.
... and the way to fix everything is to double the price!!!!!!!!!!!

There won't be a "big bang" - it will be more like a slow motion car crash, starting now.

That's Openreach's way of extending the deadline, because they know it's going to be missed, without saying they are extending the deadline. If they do the latter, people will procrastinate even more.

People can only procrastinate with the co-operation of their supplier. Also, as Openreach hike their prices, such procrastination will cost them and/or their supplier an arm and a leg.
In my opinion, it's well worth spending an hour watching the interview.

I watched the video on Thursday & left a comment, but despite saying there are currently 6 comments, I can no longer see any.
Can anyone else see any comments?

... just clicked through to it - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KkL-9O-FAzo - and it does indeed say "6 Comments" - "sort by top, sort by newest" - and no comments visible at all.
Tried all the various settings options - still no comments.
So I clicked "Ask" (ask Gemini). "why have the comments on this video disappeared (?)"
... this was the reply:
If you cannot see the comments on this video, it is likely due to one of the following reasons:
- Creator Settings: The video creator may have manually disabled the comments section for this specific video or their entire channel to manage discussions or reduce spam.
- "Made for Kids" Designation: YouTube automatically disables comments on any content designated as being aimed at children to comply with safety regulations.
- Restricted Mode: If your account or browser is in Restricted Mode, comments that may be deemed inappropriate or sensitive might be hidden from view.
- Technical Issues: Occasionally, browser extensions (like ad blockers), a temporary glitch with the YouTube app, or platform-wide server issues can cause the comment section to fail to load.
- Account/Policy Restrictions: If you are using a supervised or restricted account (e.g., for users under 18), your ability to view or post comments may be limited.
... I'm guessing the issue would be "Creator Settings" - which was the initial thought when the comments didn't display. Possibly they're not keen for any negative comments about OpenReach to be publicly visible : /

Usually, when the creator doesn't allow comments, there's a message under the video saying something like "comments have been disabled for this video". I could already read the 4 or 5 other comments that were there before mine on Thursday. The strange thing is, if the creator deleted all the messages, why does it still show that there are 6 comments? Also, the ability to post new comments is still there. Very odd.
