1571 Answer service not working

There is the sound on the line showing message in 1571 but when I dial it, it cuts off after saying  'There is a fault, try again'.  The 1572 service is also not working as regards messages.  When I phoned a friend who has the service with BT,  it did not go to the message service - again saying 'There is a Fault'.   Looks like the whole system has gone down.  What are we supposed to do?

There is nothing wrong with my line, able to make and receive calls, so not really a line problem.    Seems to be the actual voicemail service that has died!  I notice that it has been raised on the BT forum as well. If it happening to others it is not my line.

OK. If it is a national issue, you will just have to wait until BT/Openreach sort it.

Have just spoken to someone in the line fault section.  They have had numerous calls!  Appears to be a national problem which they are now aware of and will try to remedy.  No time scale though!!

Hi @DeeDee28, we're aware of an issue with the voicemail not working. This is affecting a number of customers and is being investigated currently.
