This may be glaringly obvious but I have just bought Battlefield Bad Company 2 (quite cheap) and it included a VIP code for extra maps.
When I then installed the game it performed a 1.7GB update.
When I went to download my extra maps by inputting the VIP code which was accepted the store tells me for each map pack 'this item is already available for you to use'.
Would I be correct in assuming that at some time AE decided to give away all the additional map packs in an update.
I searched Google for an answer but so far haven't found anything.
BTW I already love the game and can't wait for BF3.

Yup Strat the big update included the extra maps 
PS dont know if you were on about  the vietnam add on tho

Thanks rongtw. Vietnam is still listed as a £9.99 purchase.
I think BF3 will be well and truly here before I would need that bolt-on

My son is a hardcore Battlefield fan on Xbox and can't wait for BF3....he lives 10 miles from me so doesn't use my PS3 (as if he would).
After having watched various videos and played with BFBC2 a little.....I have to get it.
Up until now it's been MW2 and Black Ops.

LOL  ya my son is a avid PS3 mw2 blak ops fan  but am trying to convert him 
he live,s a few miles away with his mum  8).
if you play online its got to be PC or its not worth playin

I take your point but I'm not upgrading the graphics card on my PC when I've a perfectly good one in my PS3
My son lives with his family...his partner's a console widow
