poor broad band

why am i now suffering poor broad band connectivity, it now drops offline evey day , pervious service was much better and might suffer one dropout per year.also after 2 weeks on full fibre my download speed is nowhere near the estimate

@kensul Sorry, but we can’t see your image until it gets‘released’. What is your current speed- on a wired connection?

@kensul the 94Mb looks suspiciously like an ethernet cable limiting the speed to 100Mb.

I wonder if you have a faulty cat5e/cat6 cable, sometimes its losing a connection and falling back to 100Mb and sometimes failing completely.

am thinking it might be my powerline network that is causing the problem, not the cables,  have got new adaptors coming tomorrow that should hopefully fix it, wi-fi was never an option due to house construction leading to [-Censored-] poor signal strength

You didn't mention any powerline adaptors!. Could well be the problem, some AV1000 adaptors only have 100Mb ethernet ports. Make sure the new ones have gigabit ports but even then you'll likely find that even AV2000 ones will only go up to around 150Mb and that's when on the same electrical circuit. Whilst that will be fine for FF145, if you decide in future to upgrade to a faster product, the powerlines will be a limitation.

didn't mention powerline network before as it hadn't been a problem as it only connected to sky stream puck and TV, but upgrade moved router to next to tv son connects puck by wi-fi and pc now connected by powerline network

Those should be good up to around 150Mb if on the same power circuit. If you have a split load consumer unit and they are on different RCD protected circuits then don't expect much better than around 50Mb

things are going from bad to worse as I bought a wi-fi extender in the hope that I could increase my speeds via wifi the extender sits approximately half way between the router and my PC and my speed at  21.57 down and25.89 up  is now less than it was before I changed to FTTP the wi-fi is on the 2.4GHz setting and will not change to 5GHz if I go into hub manager, getting really p'd off with this entire setup and wish I was back on the fttc setup which was more reliable
