Re: Speed Much Slower than Guaranteed

I have a couple of devices that have static IPs for my home network configuration but not the router itself.

Static IPs on the local network isnt a problem.

I didn’t think so. What’s the best way of escalating this to a human being at Plusnet?

Re: Speed Much Slower than Guaranteed

what results did you get from the direct connection to the ONT ?

If that still reports 90Mb speeds , then you need to report a fault again and explain all the tests that have been done and the speed is still below the min guaranteed

Report how? By booking a call back from fault reporting?

Re: Speed Much Slower than Guaranteed

I'm not sure of the options on the fault reporting BOT these days. If there's an option for a callback then thats a good start.

If not, then call customer services directly. Make sure you tell them the results of the direct PPPoE connection to the ONT , otherwise they will insist on first trying a router replacement.

Re: Speed Much Slower than Guaranteed

Fix

I'm not sure what changed but when I returned home yesterday and ran a speed test I was up at close to 300mbs on both WIFI and wired connections.

I did read in the forum that someone else found that OpenReach had failed to complete works in the background despite getting the Service Confirmation email from Plusnet and were getting the same capped 90mbs download and 50mbs upload so maybe they were just dragging their heals with my line as well.

Either way, sorted now.
