Losing fixed IP on package change?

I was just about to upgrade to full fibre and I have a fixed IP I have had for years. I am getting conflicting information as to whether I would keep the IP or lose it.
One person on customer support said I would lose it by switching packages and the other said I would not lose it because it is tied to the account and not the package.
Has any one else been through the same process?
Fixed! Go to the fix.

Thanks for that, I am just waiting for written confirmation from the tech dept.
If I cant keep the IP I do not want to upgrade and will start looking for a new provider.
