Re: Help - where do I start?

Finally got through after 4 attempts, each time getting a different route/response. bypassed phone number requirement and went through menus, got through very quickly then.

Answer from the call centre is that they don't know! Engineer should have been here, engineers have not updated the system so Plusnet have no idea what is happening. Engineer may still turn up (doubtful now after 7 hours...), but they will follow it up and get back to us sometime tomorrow.

oh, now they've just opened a question to say that they would get back to us by 12:00 tomorrow.

Sio do i take another day off tomorrow or just plain give up on it?

Many thanks for all the help and suggestions so far,

Harry

@harryw2806 I wouldn't take any more time off until they give you a confirmed date, and be aware that if they don't turn up today, you will be entitled to compensation.

@harryw2806

No - you'll need to wait until you get a new date.

When you eventually get FTTP installed change the landline phone number in your Member's page to your mobile number.

Re: Help - where do I start?

Completely hacked off and disillusioned with this service already. Couple of different excuses given so far - engineer couldn't complete within given timescale, followed by arrived on site at 12:28 but unable to complete. This lot are beginning to sound like some well known courier services. Arrival window was 08:00 to 13:00. As I was outside between 12:00 and 13:30, I can safely say no-one was within 200 metres of my site during that period.

To add insult to injury, earliest new date available is now 26 February, not that it's by any means certain that we'll get it.

Can't say that I've come across such bad service and communication in years!

Harry, sadly that is the kind of service GPO Telephones - sorry -  OpenReach provide today, in some, not all cases.

Re: Help - where do I start?

@jab1, I know you are correct that the delay is an OR issue, BUT the OP has ordered a service from Plusnet.

Plusnet have to manage this - and time and time again we have queries from customers that are struggling to find out what (if anything) is happening. And you and other volunteers are the ones providing advice rather than Plusnet.

To contrast the level of customer support, a week or so ago my ISP sent an email and an SMS to tell me of a problem which reduced my connection speed to only 300Mbps within minutes of the problem starting (even though I was working from home I hadn't noticed), and provided regular updates until it was fixed. That is customer service - Plusnet take note.

Re: Help - where do I start?

Plusnet these days is merely a 'brand' in the portfolio of BT Consumer Group, and as such behaves in the GPO Telephones BT way - be as unhelpful to EU's as humanly possible.
