When I said LAN extender I meant WiFi extender. I brought a TP-Link AC750 RE220. It can use used as a WiFi Repeater, so it goes WiFi to router and WiFi to devices. You can also connect a LAN cable between it and a PC.

Open Reach said original telephone installation location unsuitable. Due to glass in fibre not being flexible to bend over complicated routesThat is totally correct.
Is it? I suppose it depends on exactly what is meant by "complicated". My fibre, after exiting the CSP box downwards, turns right, then goes around two 'right angled' walls - one outie and one innie - before turning vertically upwards prior to going through a hole in the outer wall. How "complicated" can it get before it fails?

@pvmb Without seeing the OP's installation, it is hard to comment, and it also depends on the engineer of the day - some are more accommodating/inventive than others.

Having Wi-Fi close to a Router but not further way could be seen if the 5GHz band is enabled and 2.4GHz band is not.

I think we need to step back a bit here...
Same router = same WiFi characteristics - the uplink (ADSL / FTTC / SoGEA / FTTP) has zero bearing on WiFI connectivity. So what has changed in your home, which has not been mentioned?
Has the switch to FTTP "necessitated" a relocation of the router? If yes, then you need to consider installing a long enough Ethernet cable between the router and the ONT to place your router where it was before.

"Router now sits where it was before the change over. Router now no longer covers the same rooms in the house as it did before. Basically very low unusable coverage or no coverage. PlusNet telling me fibre may not give my router the coverage I had before."
This makes no sense. Something must have changed - and that's not the FTTP connection.
Are you using the same Wi-Fi signal as before? 2.4 GHz vs 5 Ghz. Either that or something has gone wrong with the router in the meantime, or there is now a new source of interference.
Is the router in exactly the same place and orientation as before? For instance, was it off the ground before, but now at ground level?

"I am a novice so don't know re 2.4 or 5. That means nothing to me left it all to Open Reach."
Then I would expect this might be the cause. Whatever devices you are using may have somehow switched from using 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi to 5 GHz, or vice versa. Openreach wouldn't normally have anything to do with Wi-Fi matters - just the fibre connection and ONT installation.
5 GHz will give you the speed, but range may be less. 2.4 GHz should give good range (if no interference from other local devices on channel) but link speed will be lower.
You can check on the situation on the Hub 2 by logging in to it and seeing which Wi-Fi bands are in use. I think both are on by default, you can turn Off 5 GHz (remember to Save settings at router) leaving just 2.4 GHz On. This will though knock off any of your devices that are set to connect at 5 GHz. But it may help to get to the bottom of the problem.

You said you paid p&p on a new router. Do you still have the old one?
Even if it's a Hub1 it should still work with Full fibre. Try it and see what the WiFi's like.

@hillam27 Said "I bought a 10m network extension cable this morning."
One possibility is that the network cable is not Gigabit speed. Whilst this shouldn't affect Wifi connections directly they could be running slower as a result so appear to give reduced coverage.

This is utter 🐂 💩 from Plusnet support !
Swapping your working router for another identical router won't make any difference.
The only advantage of having a second router is that you should be able to configure it to be an extension WAP (Wireless Access Point) and expand the wireless coverage within your home. For example, you could have one WiFi router next to the Openreach ONT (i.e. the full fibre entry point), then using your 10m ethernet cable to connect the second router (configured as a WAP) in the original location, so that you have WiFi in two locations.
What speed should your new full fibre connection be ?
I'm thinking if it is below 300Mbps, you theoretically could get a pair of "powerline adaptors" (to carry ethernet traffic over your house mains wiring). You could then locate your router centrally and high up in the house for best WiFi coverage, and use powerline adaptors to make the network connection between the router's WAN port and the ONT's ethernet port. Having said that, you'd still be better off locating the router in the 'ideal' position for WiFi coverage, and somehow running a long ethernet cable between the router's WAN port and the ONT.
