Re: FTTP Fixed IP

Hello @Mewcenary, thanks a lot for getting in touch, I've just refreshed the current FTTC component on the account, can you please reboot your router, leaving it off as long as possible, and turn it back on for me?

Static IP's are still dynamically assigned by the remote server when you establish a PPP session. I would expect a local router to report the WAN IP as being dynamic, even if we're assigning you a static address.

Re: FTTP Fixed IP

Well, ont and pfsense rebooted again, however this time the ip hasn't changed. This doesn't mean fip, but better than changing. Pn portal still says dynamic tho.
Most if not all routers don't care if its fip or dynip, they just preset a connection with an ip assigned by the remote server

Re: FTTP Fixed IP

It gets better and better. As A gesture of good will, I have been refunded the £5 that I was charged for a fixed ip, which had already been paid the first time around. So I was charged £5 again on my fttp install for a fixed ip, then refunded £5. When I took out the fttp contract, I was assured that all I would be getting was a faster service with the fixed ip that I had at the time. Let's see if the bill for next month will be correct

Re: FTTP Fixed IP

@notcloud you definitely have a static IP assigned to your account and it has been in effect since early hours of the 11th.

There does seem to be an odd issue with your account display however I'm loathe to try and fix this as I suspect it may change the static IP you're assigned. If you're not precious about this then let me know and I'll give it a go.

Re: FTTP Fixed IP

Hi Adam,

Thanks for this.  I bounced the connection, and can happily report my static IP is back and seems to be persisting!

Please can I request the static IP fix for my connection too? I too had static IP before my FTTP upgrade

Re: FTTP Fixed IP

Has the static IP issue been fixed now? My static IP has been missing since I moved to FTTP and I have had a support case open for a month with no response.

You're account will need a refresh, hopefully a staff member will be along shortly.

Hello @samcogan82, thanks a lot for getting in touch.

I've just sorted that out for you, give your router a reboot and let me know if you have any further issues at all. Smiley
