OMG always complaining !, well use this windows program to benchmark all the DNS servers, and check for reliability -

Complaining and scaremongering.

@pvmb

So... Manually changing the DNS servers and saving - then restarting the Hub 2 -  doesn't change the default router DNS servers! Why not? (Because Plusnet configuration overrides settings?)

The DNS server setting on the Hub 2 changes the DNS servers that are supplied to LAN DHCP clients when they obtain a lease such that they now bypass the router DNS. It does not change the DNS server that the router obtains via its PPPoE connection.

Err... Isn't that what this board is supposed to be for? Reporting and sorting issues for PN users?

Or have I got this wrong all along, it's really just a Happy Monday Club (for board Superusers)?

Re: Connection issues with Cloudflare

It is indeed certainly for raising and discussing real issues, but not for complaining for the sake of complaining which is how it appears some posts are being perceived by several members of the community.  Add to that scare stories about things being "down" when they are not, is not overly helpful.

Re: Connection issues with Cloudflare

...Fine. If I am in error, point it out! As has been done above - I actually do want to know what the real facts are. We can all learn.

As for "complaining for the sake of complaining"... [-Censored-] is that about? Is everyone who posts on here about an issue "complaining for the sake of complaining"?

This is starting to remind me of the 'bad old days' on here - which I had thought long gone. When, for instance, after reporting finding and clearing one obscure fault on my line I shortly reported finding a second fault on the same line. This led to one of the then self appointed network experts claiming I was "lying".

Obviously said network expert knew of some Network Law of Nature whereby it was physically impossible to have TWO faults on the same line - only 'logical explanation' being that I was "lying".

I wish to stress most forcefully here that none of my comments are aimed at any member of Plusnet's staff - none of whom I have ever found to be anything less than polite and helpful. An example that can be recommended to others.
