My dl speed has dropped a to 26 from 37
my upload speed is only 0.79 now
I presume it will be up and down, would it be possible to push the upload to say 4 or will that affect my download even more?

what FTTC product are you on?
it'll either be 40/2 or 80/20
also, how are you testing the speed? ethernet or WIFI? - don't do tests using WIFI.

Im using a flex media server to share home movies with my boys (one in australia and one in Thailand) at the moment they can only watch them one at a time
So have had to upload them to youtube, which isnt ideal

2Mbps upstream is not suitable for streaming anything externally to be honest.

but plusnet decided to only offer 40/2.
guess you wish you avoided plusnet now.
are you still within your cooling off period? if you where then i'd cancel and go to an ISP that will give you 40/10

Id have a massive bill to pay if i cancelled at this stage as its a 2 year contract - 40/10 would have been excellent but too late now.

Are the speed test being performed via wifi or ethernet cable to the router?
If by cable then I suggest you may have an issue which needs looking at.

Quote from: g4jnw I was advised to go for 40/2 due to the exchange, so i take it 2 is the max then, no way of asking it to be increased.
I'm not sure why you would have been advised to go for 40/2 'due to the exchange'
The estimates for your line are good - 76Mbps-80Mbps Download and 20Mbps Upload.
It may be worth speaking to our Customer Options Team on 0800 013 2632 (Selecting the option for thinking of leaving) about upgrading to the higher fibre package for up to 20Mbps upload.

Well your a topman - have done as you suggested they can upgrade me but not until the 25th when my bill is due but thanks that will allow me to use the fibre properly
