Was there an outage today?

Looking at my TBB graph today shows a 5 hour drop out this morning:

Luckily it seems the ip is a bit sticky, so it re- connected to the same one.

Probably overnight maintenance. Have a look at this link, lots of area codes affected.

Thanks for that. Our code isn't there, but doesn't mean to say it wasn't affected.

@Marksfish,

 

I've had a look at your connection logs during that time and it actually shows a drop just after midnight and a reconnect about 40 minutes later (this was probably the maintenance - though I can't find anything reported). When it reconnected it the dropped again about half 5 and then reconnected again. Here's a visual of the radius logs for your connection:

 

 

When it reconnected after that midnight drop until the 5:30 drop there was data that is showing as transferred to so it does look like the connection was usable.

Thanks for the log. Very strange as to why the graph was showing total loss for that amount of time then.

What router are you using and do you have any other external monitors configured? Could it be that your router is rate limiting external ping requests?

Morning Bob. It it is the PN supplied router, and because it isn't configurable to allow pings, I have them sent to a Now TV box in the DMZ. Never had to do it this way before, as all other routers I have had allow ping from the router interface.

I can't see any drop of connection (save a very brief one at about 9.30am) - did you notice something longer?

That was me re- starting the router.  As I mentioned, I have found it is a router wireless issue and have opened a new thread about it here.
