Unlimited fibre extra on Draytek 2860

Hi

I've recently moved from BT to PN.  I'm on the unlimited fibre service and using a Draytek 2860 modem/router.  The modem is showing down/up speeds of 78/20Mbps but am noticing slower response than before on BT and speedtest.net is showing 30Mbps download speed.  (on BT it would show a download speed of 78/79Mbps).

Diagnostics from the modem shown below.   Any help would be much appreciated.

thanks

Re: Unlimited fibre extra on Draytek 2860

I've ran some tests on your line, and everything is looking fine from our side. Looking at your router report, I'm not seeing any issues there either. When you got 30Mbps, was it using a wireless or wired connection to your device?

I have attached the full results of your line test below;

Re: Unlimited fibre extra on Draytek 2860

Hi,

Thanks for running the tests.  Its the same wired or wireless and from different devices.  I also ran the test late at night.   Just retried and got 9ms ping, 27Mbps down and 18Mbps up.   Will check everything again here, but BT to PN is the only thing that's changed.

Re: Unlimited fibre extra on Draytek 2860

Hi

Did you sort it out?

Did the slowdown occur as soon as you started to use the 2860?, and I assume no issues when using the Plusnet Modem?

Have you got QOS enabled, I fell into that trap as it was set to my old adsl2+ setting, and when I moved to fttc it was still slow on a speed-test, but high on the actual connection to the cabinet.

I have put my 2860 online after a stabilisation period, so far so good, no real difference between the 2860 and the PN Hub.

Also there were some  mention on the Draytek board re setting the hardware acceleration, mine is off.

Re: Unlimited fibre extra on Draytek 2860

Hi,

Still not fixed.  I ran Speedtest today and got 27Mbps down and 18Mbps up.   I don't have the PN modem and was using the Draytek modem successfully on BT before I switched.  I've been on FTTC for a while so that hasn't changed.  The only thing that has changed is I've switched from BT to PN.

I'll have a look at QOS.

Thx

Re: Unlimited fibre extra on Draytek 2860

Just checked and QoS is not enabled on the Draytek.

At the physical layer I've got a 79Mbps connection so confused what might be causing the slow down.

Hi

Have you tried the Vigor community, you have to register, but I have got some useful tips on there.
