Looks like I may finally have cracked this.... Plusnet router in the bin where it belongs. A second hand fritz router from eBay in position. Service rock solid. WiFi much better. Wired LAN stable. No random and inconvenient services drops in 10 days and counting....
just think how much companies like BT, SKY and PLUSNET could save in support effort and customer satisfaction by shipping a better router. This is why people choose ZEN, for example and why ZEN support have the time to deal with issues properly - because they’re not overwhelmed by faults caused by their crappy kit.
should have spent this £40 four years ago......
