High packet loss and other DNS issues

I lost connection again i guess plusnet are tweaking things again

Can confirm, just had a static IP added and everything is now working as it should.  Gone from high packet loss (50% +) to not showing anything at all right now.

I guess that I must have been allocated a static ip, as I'm now on  ptw-bng01, so thanks for that. However, my ip profile has now been reduced down from 23 ish to 20 mb, meaning I'm only returning 17mb on speed tests. This has only been happening since the 27th August when I also noticed the stuttering,buffering and failure of pages to load. Can you please also take a look at my profile and see what's going on there?

I think the same happened to me. I just had an online chat session with a Tech person, and they said 

The speed profile on your account appears to be set low. I will adjust that manually now and the speed should increase within the next hour or so

SoI hope to go back up to my normal speed of around 46Mb, not the 21Mb I'd been put on. They said the reason I might have been put on this profile was 

This could be due to an underlying issue on the line so if it doesn't improve you may need to get back in touch for further support

We shall see if my speed goes back up or if I have to contact them again... (probably the latter!)

@GeesRiK Thanks for that, incidentally, was your bt ip profile also set low, as like I say mine has also been reduced to 20mb?

Seems like they're going to be doing something on Monday to their network.

We're performing maintenance on some of our broadband network.

Am I likely to notice the work?
Possibly. As part of this maintenance some customers will be disconnected from the Internet. Any customers disconnected should reconnect automatically elsewhere on the network.

Is there anything else I need to know?
Some customers may find they lose connection more than once during this maintenance window but anyone disconnected should be able to reconnect straight away.

See how mine goes, today ive had one disconnection and odd rubberbanding in online pc games.

I bought a static IP like many of the other posters here and it indeed switched me to the old network and fixed my problems (so far), i'll post again if anything changes but so far so good.

I asked earlier today (and earlier in this thread) which network was to be worked on but (as expected, people are not in the office) no answer yet. Of course, even if the new network, there is no guarantee that they will fix our problem....
