Did you try checking speeds by connecting to the test socket?

Yeah it seems to have improved a lot to 50 but only problem is that it isn't consistent...

It may be advised to keep it like that for a few days and see if the consistency settles down? 

I had this problem a few days ago and my speed was ranging from 40-58mb and settled at 56mb.

Also, might be worth running a speed test over here  and when completed to click further diagnostic and put telephone number and see what your IP Profile is?

Over wired connection of course
