The only way this can be confirmed for sure is for Plusnet to do a full line check which will say for certain as it is too locked down for the customer to check

hello, your answer : If you have further problems I would advise you contact Sony for further support as they manage the playstation network and not us. So I asking who is plus1 manufacter? sony or plusnet ? Im confused.Like I said before I received error msg the router in use might not support ip packet fragmentation and some network features of the ps4 might be restricted. For details contact the router manufacter..so I contacted plusnet. It is clear ? Also I tryed set up ps4 connection with mtu 1473 or 1450 no change I still get error ps4 or ps3 laging, freezing. Set up by this link http://www.dualshockers.com/2014/12/29/ps4s-temporary-mtu-1473-fix-to-access-the-psn-made-official-b... .If I checked my MTU value on pc still showed me 1488 so no change.Should be 1492?.So you didnt help me.Sony dont respond on email..so I payed for services on plusnet what you didnt give to me. Dns address are still 213.120.234.42 & 213.120.234.38 this dns is safeguard dns!!!!!!
Plusnet ignore my problem they dont want help me.Like I said before very bad support (HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED FOR ALL NEW CUSTOMER WHO WANNTS SWITCH TO PLUSNET BE AWARE).Plusnet looking only for own profit !!!!!!I not trust anymore this weak company!!!!

Unfortunately I suspect that your English is part of the issue. It really is difficult to understand what your problem is.
Quote from: roberto2212 Thanks for reading...but this is BIG TRUE ABOUT PLUSNET..sorry for my english
The article you linked to says there is a suspected problem with PS4s. That is the responsibility of Sony to address. The fact that you got a message stating that you should contact the router manufacturer does not change anything. The PN network is a bog-standard UK network using a standard MTU. If the PS4 is not compatible with it then Sony need to sort their products out. It is not PN's responsibility as they didn't sell you the PS4 and nor do they manufacture them.
'Dns address are still 213.120.234.42 & 213.120.234.38 this dns is safeguard dns'
If you don't like the DNS addresses the router is using then change them.

ISP's are always making changes to their network, so they may have made a change on the network giving you this problem, it's not always Sonys fault ...
This IP fragmet message is caused by incorrect MTU settings in your router settings or PS4 network settings or an issue at your ISP's end.
ISP referes to your internet service provider who provides your internet connection, we are talking companies like BT, Virgin, Plusnet, etc. It may be to do with your ISP's network, it would be worthwhile calling them and asking about this problem.
I just had a reply from playstaion. Here is what they say to resolve the problem. It involves port forwarding whatever that is.........
Thanks for your e-mail about your Sony Entertainment Network (SEN) account.
I'm sorry to hear that you are having trouble connecting to PlayStation Network.
That error code means that your console is having trouble sending data to us over the internet. Most of the time this is fixed by opening up certain ports on your internet router, but don't worry, it's really easy to do!
It’ll be helpful if you can dig out your internet provider's router user guide, as some routers have slightly different ways of changing these settings.
Just look for instructions on how to change port forwarding in your user manual, or contact your internet service provider for advice.
To make sure that you can get online, make sure that you have the following ports opened:
TCP Ports: 80, 443, 465, 993, 3478, 3479, 3480, 5223, 8080 and 10070 - 10080
UDP Ports: 3478, 3479, 3658, and 10070
Additional ports used for other specific functions/features are:
TCP: 9293 (for Remote Play & Remote Start)
TCP: 1935, 2805~2899, 6667 (for viewing or hosting Live Broadcasting)
TCP: 9309 (for Content Manager Assistant)
UDP: 9293 (for Remote Play & Remote Start)
UDP: 9309 (for Content Manager Assistant)
If you're unsure how to open these ports, you can contact your router supplier or a trusted technician for assistance.
Feel free to drop us a line or give us a call to speak to one of our team if you’re still having problems.
Thanks,
Jared
PlayStation Support
Tryed open ports on router-no change-got same error...next put static ip ps4 to DMZ on router (all ports must be open)-got same error.
my PS4 connected to virgin media isp network...no error...so where is problem ? I guess that plusnet.(must by bad MTU value via line)

On ps4 network speed test-got error message: ip packet fragmentation and some network features of the ps4 might be restricted. For details contact the router manufacter...start any games on ps4, game freezing or laging when play online or no start.
Checked MTU on pc : result 1460 pass, 1461 need fragmentation..1460+28=1488.
Same result on ps3.
PS 4 connected to Virgin media network, speed test without error..any game not laging, not freezing
Checked MTU on pc :1472 pass, 1473 need fragmentation...1472+28=1500
Same result on ps3.
I hope that you understand.Thanks

The largest possible non-fragmented packet is 1460 (1488 - 28 ICMP & IP headers).
You can set your MTU to 1488

This will give you the setting to use at the CPE device.
"Chris (PN)" There is no MTU "negotiation" There is "Path MTU Discovery" however I would be very surprised if the PN Hub1 were capable of performing this. The SG TCP Optimiser (sp) looks to be doing just that...
I required to set my device to 1488 to even get a stable connection to PN service.
Is there any way to modify the MTU on the ps4?
It's a shame that there seem to be no support engineers above Tier 1 when you get through to PN Technical Support.

I think that problem is:
1. bad firmware on plusnet hub one
2.issue on network line

Quote from: lukec what MTU is set at the DSLAM end. ?
1500
Quote from: lukec This will give you the setting to use at the CPE device.
Nope, your router's maximum MTU will be dependent on how the modem is connected and the router's capability.
A typical cheap router connected to an external FTTC modem using PPPoE protocol, has maximum MTU at 1492.
A decent router supporting "baby jumbo frames" on the PPPoE link may allow the MTU to be set the full 1500.
Quote from: lukec "Chris (PN)" There is no MTU "negotiation" There is "Path MTU Discovery"
however I would be very surprised if the PN Hub1 were capable of performing this.
Most ethernet connected devices made in the last decade are likely to be capable of "Path MTU Discovery".
Quote from: lukec I required to set my device to 1488 to even get a stable connection to PN service.
Where did this 1488 come from ?, was this found by experimentation or was it recommended somewhere ?
