Are there any extensions sockets anywhere else? - such as connected to the line at a junction box before the master socket - that's what a bridge tap could be.

Haven't seen any junction boxes that are too obvious.
So, 14 days connected now, as I asked before, what would be the best time to reboot the router please? I go to work around 6am, so disconnect overnight and leave off until I go out? Is it likely that after 14 days, the interleaving that was applied quite ferociously is likely to be reduced? Is interleaving the same as DLM?

Well, it has been taken out of my hands and early in the morning my router re- synced. The upload and download speeds have increased, almost back to pre disconnection speeds and the interleaving depth on the router is now being reported as 1241 down and 1 up. Hopefully the next re- sync, the interleaving will be removed a bit more.
