newbie phpgedview questions

i have uploaded phpgedview into my htdocs folder. Is this correct. When I try to bring up the configuration page www.mw.plus.com/phpgedview/ I just get a list of files. On the install guide it talks about configuration. Is there anywhere that gives a step by step guide on how to do this?

Re: newbie phpgedview questions

PHP programs have to go on to the CCGI or PAYH server, not the standard www homepages server. As ccgi is going to be retired in the not too distant future I suggest you look at PAYH

Re: newbie phpgedview questions

OMG
I have just read this stuff about CCGI and PAYH
I'm trying to set up a bit of Typo3 (of which, the current version uses PHP5 so all good for PAYH)
As I understand it, this is the situation:
CCGI is being retired around April 2009
PAYH is not yet in full production (supposed to be end Jan 2009)
I have just tried to get an account on the PAYH trial and it says that it is not working right now.
This is not looking professional
Please tell me it's not as bad as it sounds.
