I'm helping my neighbour navigate the new technology.
Currently with BT with FTTC BB + PhoneLine and out of contract
Looking at PN FTTP SOGEA (so no Phone Line).
We want to:
- have a separate install of FTTP by PN, prove the connection (will be one of the first in the street), and keep the BT FTTC BB + PhoneLine working
- once FTTP is proven, contact a VOIP provider and migrate the PhoneLine number to them, which will cease the BT FTTC line.
Standard procedure.
On the order website it say: "working line detected" as shown in the screenshot. If we select "I want to keep my phone line with the current provider" will this keep everything as-is - including the BT FTTC BB connection?
Thank you
Fixed! Go to the fix.

That is correct and is exactly what I did with my parents last year, and what my plan was for my mother-in-laws (who's a long distance away). I'd planned to do that whilst there for Christmas, but will have left it too late now.
My reasoning for both wasn't so much for proving the FTTP connection, but for ensuring little downtime on the voice side of things, and also in my mother-in-laws case to make sure that the voice side happens whilst I'm there, as I'll be making some changes to her internal wiring to keep a couple of extensions where she wants them.
Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

Thanks @pjmarsh
FTTP has just become available in the street in the last few days so we may be one of the first. I don't want to cut off the existing BT FTTC solution until we know it is reliable.
I've just confirmed with Telesales, although the person had to check with their boss.
I did believe you, just like to double check.
Thank you again.
