ccgi webspace not responding

Having worked flawlessly for years, regular uploads of weather data to my ccgi website started to fail on 29th July at 18.45. The weather station software logs show an error, 'Name or service not known'. The error repeated for another four uploads, after which they resumed as normal until another failure at 20.25 with a different error, 'Temporary failure in name resolution'. After that, there were no more successful uploads and the original error was reported each time.

One DNS lookup showed for CNAME:
Domain name ccgi.xxxxxx.force9.co.uk
Canonical name ccgi.xxxxxxx.f9.greenbysites.com

This suggests that Greenby are involved.

I have had no communication from Greenby about any migration of email or websites, so have no way of contacting them. Email and my homepages website are working normally.

I'm hoping that someone from Plusnet technical support might read this and help with a solution.

Re: ccgi webspace not responding

Perhaps @bobpullen can take a look, or knows the internal guru who can solve this ?

Re: ccgi webspace not responding

The Greenby Portal is at : www.greenby.com

The Credentials are the same as for the Plusnet Members Centre.

Thanks but,

Re: ccgi webspace not responding

Everything is still with us.

I've checked the account (the one you provided in your forum profile) and after a quick look i can't see anything obvious wrong on our side or at Hostopia.

When you FTP in, can you see your files as you'd expect?

Re: ccgi webspace not responding

Thanks for responding, Tony.

When I try to connect via FTP , the immediate response is 'Connection failed'.

Re: ccgi webspace not responding

I should have added that traceroute to the server produces 'unknown host'.

Re: ccgi webspace not responding

@plusnettony its a while since I used my cgi space.

Should FTP to ccgi.<account>.plus.com still work ?

It doesnt , and nslookup ccgi.<account>.plus.com reports 'Non existent domain'

Re: ccgi webspace not responding

I've asked a colleague to do some tweaking (awaiting DNS to update on our side). I'm hopeful this will sort it, but if not, I have a plan.

I will check back tomorrow, but if the changes work, I expect them to be seen later today.

My ccgi address has disappeared

It is currently returning "This site can’t be reached. ccgi.xxxxx.force9.co.uk’s DNS address could not be found. Diagnosing the problem" in my web browser, and attempts to FTP to it fail to connect. Please can someone investigate?  Thanks.
