Switching from Plusnet to EE

As I need a landline phone I see that if I want full fibre Plusnet will transfer me to EE. I have followed all the steps to switch over on line but when it comes to opening an EE account I can't because every time I key in the verification code it just takes me straight back to the create an account page. I been trying for two days now but it won't work. Ringing the helpline told me there was 30 minute waiting time which is ridiculous. Anyone else had  a similar problem or is this a sign that I should maybe look elsewhere?

Cancel the switch - it needs to be organised through PlusNet.

Once cancelled phone the PlusNet Customer Options Team on 0800 013 2632.

You can stay with PN for Full Fibre if you're happy to port your phone to an independant VOIP supplier. You have 30 days to do so once Full Fibre is up and running. Not as easy as switching to a combined provider but could be cheaper.

If you're anywhere near the end of your PN contract you could look at other providers eg Zen Internet

How easy depends if the EE router the OP gets has a working analogue phone socket.  The two BT to EE 'slams' I have been involved with sorting out did not - so the down time was weeks not the couple of days lost going to a free-standing VOIP.

'Just plug your old phone into the green socket' was a lie.  All new wi-fi handsets required.

Even that gap can be avoided by taking out VOIP first **with a new number** so you can get the kit going and make calls prior to FTTP.

Once the FTTP is running, **and only then**, do you port the existing number onto the VOIP service
