Static IP became dynamic after house move

Hi,

Hopefully  Plusnet staff may be able to help - moved home recently and notice my IP address is now dynamic. Support call yesterday assured me that my IP address is static (was still the same as it was before I moved), but is definitely changing after a reboot of the modem.

IP address is in the 217.*.*.* range and nslookup reports "name=*.*.*.*.dyn.plus.net"

Took me a while to work out my VPN wasn't working because of this rather than a router issue,

Re: Static IP became dynamic after house move

If the 'name' is your account name, then the IP is static.

Re: Static IP became dynamic after house move

Thanks John. The nslookup returned what looked like an IP address: 103.124.39.217.dyn.plus.net, and not the account name.

Another post suggested this indicated a dynamic IP address.

Re: Static IP became dynamic after house move

OK, @fatwob , my error sorry, it does appear to be dynamic, but that wasn't clear from your initial post. Hopefully, one of the Help Team will be along soon to resolve this.

Fix

Hi @fatwob

That should be fixed for you now.

If you reboot your router you should get your static IP back
