Server wont accept password although website will

I'm a dialup customer - created an account 24 hours ago - and the server wont accept my password for ftp transfer.. The password must be correct because I can use it to log on to the main website.
Does anyone have any idea as to why my password is not being accepted?
The Plusnet pages say you have to wait 12 hours before you can put stuff on to your webspace - but 24 have gone - do I need to wait longer?

Have you changed your password ?  If yes you may need to rase a Ticket with Technical Support.  I have had this problem before.
