PTR Record modification for Reverse DNS

@adamwalker

I've been with PlusNet for years and ran an email server for about 7 years after getting a Static IP, every so year or so you block my SMTP ports and I have to give you a nudge and then you free it up.

For the first time I've had an email bounce back with the following error :

550 Access denied - Invalid HELO name (See RFC2821 4.1.1.1) (in reply to MAIL FROM command)

Googled it and found the following post you were involved in :

https://community.plus.net/t5/Email/Change-PTR-record-home-unlimited-fibre/td-p/1046313

I've been on with first line Tech Support and discussed this and the guy tried his hardest to understand that I wanted the PTR record on my static IP changed to my own Domain but hadn't come across this before, fair play neither had I until today, so he's raised a case (CASE REF : 239606451) for it to be looked at.

He also suggested posting on the forum and @ mentioning you as you resolve the issue previously. Any chance you could give it a look please ?

Re: PTR Record modification for Reverse DNS

@MatthewWheeler

For people ending up on this page, Plusnet have kindly, and promptly, changed the PTR record on their DNS Servers for my static IP to reflect my domain which has resolved the issue.
