Domain Name has expired (ex Freenetname)

I've just had an email from Nominet to say that my domain name has expired and needs to be renewed.

In the past this is something which Freenetname/Madasafish/Plusnet have done automatically - is there something I need to do to get it sorted?

Re: Domain Name has expired (ex Freenetname)

Is it genuinely from Nominet? Are they your domain registrar? Has the domain expired? Is it offering to promote your website on search engines as well?

I get lots of similar e-mails about the domains I hold, all wanting big money to renew the domain and promote it on search engines. They usually arrive a few months before the domain expires.

Check with a Whois lookup if the domain has actually expired. If it has get in touch with whoever is identified as the registrar and/or administrative contact. If it's not yet expired - you can probably bin the e-mail (and expect a few more).

Re: Domain Name has expired (ex Freenetname)

I did a whois as soon as I received it - the registration expired yesterday.

The registrar is Plusnet (t/a Madasafish Broadband) - hence why I've posted here 🙂

Fix

I finally managed to connect with Plusnet's online chat and have hopefully got this resolved.

Fingers crossed!

Re: Domain Name has expired (ex Freenetname)

Was it straightforward to get your Domain re-registered? My one which I set up with Freenetname in 2000 is set to expire on the 3rd June.

cheers

@flycatchers Why not contact Plusnet by live chat straight away to get things moving. No need to wait until registration expires.

@ciderboy,looks like your domain registration has been renewed now Smiley

@flycatchers, your domain will be renewed automatically this week, you needn't contact support.
