I am on a church committee and we were quoted £30 for an Internet connection. We are classed as a business with a registered charity number. There is only a reseference to domestic customers for the deals on offer. I assume businesses are excluded. Correct?

Hi @Hermes5 and welcom to the fora.
Under the T&Cs Plusnet customers are not allowed to use service for business use. However some customers do but then are angry/disappointed when they find that the level of service/support falls short of what is expected for a business.

I asked @Gandalf explicitly about providing an internet service to a church some months back. The answer was an emphatic "No!". Services are only available for individuals, not corporate entities.
I know that churches need to watch their budgets tightly (I have the tee shirts) but £30pcm is not too bad a price, though there might be a couple of options - from a Google search...
The cheapest business broadband for a UK church [CofE] is typically found through the Parish Buying Scheme, a free-to-join service designed to leverage the bulk purchasing power of the Church of England and Church in Wales. [1, 2]
If your specific building requires standard fixed-line broadband, Parish Buying offers specifically negotiated contracts designed to beat standard market rates. For a broader range of the lowest-priced business broadband deals available across the wider market, consider the following low-cost providers:
bOnlineFrom \(\pounds15.00\) to \(\pounds19.95\) per month300 Mbps (Full Fibre)24-monthSpecializes in micro-businesses and charities. Often the cheapest full-fibre option available, but primarily operates with online/email customer support.
Virgin Media BusinessFrom \(\pounds18.99\) to \(\pounds23.00\) per month125 Mbps to 300 Mbps24-monthExcellent value-for-speed, but strictly depends on whether your church building is in a Virgin Media cable area.
TalkTalk BusinessFrom \(\pounds25\) to \(\pounds30\) per month76 Mbps (Superfast)24-monthReliable, traditional fixed-line business broadband with UK-based customer service.
Non-profit/Charity status: Always declare that you are a charity/place of worship when applying. Some providers offer reduced rates or waive standard setup fees. [1]
Parish Buying I find is a mixed bag of good deals and not so good deals. Their previous electricity deals were not great for us.
