Today I’ve discovered that all of the town aside from about a dozen houses can now order FTTP via OpenReach.
https://labs.thinkbroadband.com/local/broadband-map#15/
Enabling the address level FTTP map on the link above shows the whole town aside from a dozen or so houses with a green dot.
https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL/AddressFeatureProduct
Says FTTP not available. Not a priority exchange. Other houses on the same cabinet get a message saying FTTP is available, some with no anticipated problems.
Any suggestions for how we can find out if OpenReach will ever connect us? Or have they already and just not updated their database?

Are you currently served by an overhead or underground connection?
Is you house (and the others) in an "awkward" location that might be proving difficult for OR to install the Full Fibre network?
What does OR say for your property? - www.openreach.co.uk

We have overhead lines. There’s no access issues whatsoever with the house. The pole we’re connected to is even on a grassy area as well, so there’s no issue getting at the pole itself either.

Next question - does the pole have a CBT fitted?
The number of ports depends on the number of properties served.

Thanks for the image. I'm afraid I can't tell if a CBT is present or not. Now you know what to look for I think next time you're out you need to have a good look.
Full Fibre doesn't run to the nearest cabinet - it goes directly all the way to a Main Exchange (which may not be your local one). What to do is to use the Address version of the Checker and look at the houses connected to the pole which serves you.

I think you can be assured that the will connect you; the question when is though a different matter.
Published today, this makes interesting reading... Openreach full fibre rollout rolling back in some areas - UPDATE | thinkbroadband

One thing I did notice today – the two websites in my first post both list two houses on the start of the street as having FTTP. Those two houses have wires from the same overhead pole as a bunch of others there which are listed as *not* having FTTP on either website. Which seems odd to me. This is a separate pole to ours though.

This could be a candidate for an availability check with the business. There is a specific process for verifying not-spots where surrounding properties are all in supplied properties database.

I was building up to that but first I was looking to get all your ducks lined up in a row so you had all the information needed to push for an Availabilty check.
A better picture would help. When out it wouldn't do any harm to make a note of the pole identifier.
As mentioned earlier, use this to check houses connected to the pole that serves you. Other poles will be on a different Full Fibre circuit so results would be meaningless to your situation.
