The product type of FTTC+POTS stays the same, but EE could reroute the telephone number to their VOIP system.
No, the product has to change from FTTC (including WLR) to SoGEA which means an order on Openreach. That order will cease the WLR and free the phone number for EE to port to their VOIP system.
Superusers are not staff, but they do have a direct line of communication into the business in order to raise issues, concerns and feedback from the community.

I am not sure its being made clear as from posts on here calls/emails appear to focus on if you are just looking to retain your existing landline number (move to EE) or not (stay with PN)

Hopefuly okay to gatecrash the conversation, but I've just had a missed call from this number, no message left. Funnily enough, searching for the number brought me here. I don't recall Plusnet having my mobile number.
I currently have Plusnet for broadband, BT for phone. Although I'm aware the existing phone services are being switched off at some point, neither BT nor Plusnet have been in contact to say when. I'd like to keep the landline because mobile signal around here can be flaky, but the email is more important. I've delayed upgrading to fibre thinking the migration would've been done by now and I wanted to minimise any problems, but we all know how bad Greenby has been with the migrations.

@john_chandler One of my relatives is in the same situation as you. She still hasn't heard from either Plusnet or BT. After I told her about Plusnet automatically transferring me to EE, she was hoping that Plusnet or BT would do the same for her. I suppose it's not so easy when you are with different providers for phone & internet, even though they are all part of the same group. Here was my thread:-
Landline with BT & broadband with Plusnet. Easiest... - Plusnet Community

Unlikely to get anything from plusnet as they cant offer to retain phone number and as you are on ADSL or FTTC which sits on top of the landline service provided by BT i guess its not in plusnets interest to change the status quo.
