Re: Calls from 01438 989277

I, and posters above, are equally suspicious of the statement

I also do not see it would be attractive on costs as it is two lots of 'line rental' style payments, that will only buy a few years of supplier powered voice calling.

As I am FTTP priority (suggest you check) everything suggests no new contracts would be permitted that were not a single FTTP deal - with any add-on IP voice the provider felt like offering.

Re: Calls from 01438 989277

I had a call from this number this morning on my mobile. I answered it straight away but was cut off within a few seconds. First thing I do when I get a call from an unknown number is to Google it. I can understand why some people think it's a scam on the "who called me" type websites. Receiving a call that you're not expecting, then being met with silence is not a positive experience.

Why didn't Plusnet mention in their email that you might get a call? I see that someone on the "who called me" site said that he actually upgraded over the phone. I'm not good with making decisions over the phone when presented with options. The email from Plusnet simply said that, if I do nothing then I would be transferred over to EE. If this phone call is just to confirm that, then fine. That's assuming that someone at the other end decides to actually talk to me.

Re: Calls from 01438 989277

The approach of an email stating a 'forced' transfer to EE is interesting to those of us following the processes.

Would you be able and happy to share it - after removing any personal identifers (address, phone, username etc) ?

I guess I am off the list for that mail having told 01438989277 that I would 'fix it myself my way'.

There seemed no need to respond in the call, a 'thank you for the options I will deal with it' should get you away with time to think it through - and come up with something better !

Re: Calls from 01438 989277

@mwwagain I've converted the email to jpeg & attached it. This was a reminder, so doesn't mention getting in touch within 30 days, but it does contain details about "add-ons" that weren't in the first email. The first email was sent on 2nd April, so my 30 days is up now. I intended to let Plusnet transfer me over to EE anyway. Let's see how it goes 🤞

Re: Calls from 01438 989277

Thanks @RadioFox

So a full-on let us cut your POTS phone off or we will force a transfer to EE.  From the dates, by waiting for the 1 April contracts price rise allows claiming the 'same price with EE' despite EE being more expensive on a new contract.

For you and the users being transferred, I hope the 'just plug it in' is working for them, or EE will be shelling out a lot of free wi-fi DECT sets.

Would this present a contract voiding opportunity for anyone wanting out ?
