mark as spam icon in webmail

what happens to the email when i hit mark as spam icon does it go to anyone ?

i know a copy goes into my junk folder

received one each day over last 3 days 

2 saying i had voicemail from docusign and quikbooks

todays one was demanding i pay them bitcoin  because they they knew and had filmed me looking at porn etc 

this one came from my own email address in full to my email address

i use xxxx@username.plus.com

i noticed in the sent address a couple of the letters were highlighted in green

The automatic spam filter gets 'educated'.

In marking as spam remember to be considerate.  If you are receiving communications for services you signed upto / subscribed to but no longer want their messages, then unsubscribe and DO NOT mark as spam.  Marking as spam can result in others who do want those communications not receiving them.

As well as using the 'mark as spam' option you should forward all suspicious emails to:

report@phishing.gov.uk

You'll get an autoreply thanking you for doing so.
